Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevki was injured on the 11th of May, 2025.
Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski has shared another encouraging update on his recovery, posting a video to his Instagram Stories on Saturday showing him taking shots in an outdoor training session. It is the clearest sign yet that the 26-year-old is progressing well, and with Tottenham players due back for pre-season preparations in roughly a month, the timing could hardly be better.

Kulusevski has not played since May 2025, when a patella injury cut his afternoon short inside 20 minutes of a defeat to Crystal Palace. What initially looked like a setback of weeks became months, then an indefinite absence, costing him the entirety of Spurs’ 2025/26 campaign and, ultimately, his place in Graham Potter’s Sweden squad for the World Cup. For a player of his influence, it has been a deeply painful year to sit through.
What Dejan Kulusevski’s impending return means for De Zerbi’s Spurs
The footage from Saturday goes further than the clip Kulusevski posted in June showing him passing and moving through cones. This time he is striking the ball at goal, with a goalkeeper behind him and a full spread of balls laid out in front. It looks like a player finding his rhythm again.
The next step in his comeback will be returning to group training with his teammates. Spurs acquired Mohammed Kudus from West Ham last summer, so Kulusevski will not walk straight back into the side, but Roberto De Zerbi has a squad thin on creativity and a player of his quality still has plenty to offer in 2026/27.
