Antonin Kinsky enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in fortunes after Roberto De Zerbi was appointed as the Tottenham Hotspur boss in March.
The 23-year-old had a rollercoaster first full season with Spurs, unforgettably being substituted just 17 minutes into their Champions League last-16 tie at Atletico Madrid after conceding three goals. The Czech Republic glovesman made two high-profile errors early on, as Atletico Madrid romped to a 5-2 win. He was hauled off by interim manager Igor Tudor and replaced by Guglielmo Vicario.
But after Roberto de Zerbi came in as Tottenham boss, Antonin Kinsky featured in the final seven Premier League games of the season and played a key role in the north Londoners’ survival. He most notably made outstanding saves against Wolves and Leeds United that helped Spurs earn valuable four points in their quest for safety.

Tottenham have shown total faith in Kinsky with the latest developments. The young shot-stopper penned his new contract at the end of June to reinforce his status as No.1. The club bosses have recognised his valuable efforts in keeping the Lilywhites in the top flight and rewarded him with a pay hike.
Famous Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham has now charted the next steps for Kinsky after he agreed to fresh terms. He thinks that the 23-year-old could boost his Czech Republic prospects by playing regularly for Tottenham.
“It gives him the opportunity now to really establish himself at a Tottenham team that are going to be on an upwards positive trajectory,” John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News.
“His goals will be, firstly, getting that number one shirt, and secondly, getting himself the number one shirt for his national team, the Czech Republic, as well.
“I don’t think that’s that much of an ask, if he’s playing week in, week out for Tottenham, I expect him to start getting those opportunities.
“I think there was an outside chance he was going to get called up for the World Cup this time; obviously, the Czechs were very disappointing in the tournament, but he opted to have a surgery that he’d put off, ensuring that he stayed fit for Tottenham.”
Kinsky is the present and future of Tottenham
The decision to hand Kinsky a fresh deal with a pay rise goes far beyond simply trusting his qualities. When Vicario underwent groin surgery, De Zerbi had no option but to back Kinsky and lift his spirits, which were on the floor following his catastrophic showing at Atletico Madrid. And he repaid the Italian tactician’s faith with not only impressive shot-stopping ability, but also composure and courage in building attacks from the back.
Martin Dubravka’s arrival this summer, coupled with Vicario’s exit links, means De Zerbi views Kinsky as the club’s new No.1. Unless the north Londoners end up bringing in another goalkeeper, the young Prague-born talent is expected to start the 2026/27 season. And securing the future of a talented yet developing glovesman who has already proven he can handle the pressure of playing for a big club like Spurs is massive.
