Borussia Dortmund have opened talks with Tottenham over their 18yo, but Spurs are refusing to include a permanent buy option.
Borussia Dortmund have initiated formal contact with Tottenham Hotspur regarding a potential transfer for highly rated winger Mikey Moore. The German giants are eager to add the England Under-19 international to their long list of successfully developed British talents, identifying his raw pace and technical ability as ideal fits for their attacking structure.
According to an update from journalist Ekrem Konur on X, talks are actively underway between the two clubs exploring a loan framework that features a future purchase option.
However, Tottenham are expected to firmly block any permanent buyout clauses from being integrated into an agreement. The North London club’s hierarchy remains incredibly reluctant to sanction a permanent exit for the young starlet at this developmental juncture, seeing him as an integral component of their long-term future. Dortmund remain fiercely determined to complete a deal, capitalizing on the allure of immediate Champions League participation to help convince the 18-year-old to make the move to Germany.
Dortmund’s pursuit comes directly on the heels of a highly successful individual campaign for Moore, who spent the previous season on loan with Scottish Premiership heavyweights Rangers. The young winger completely took the league by storm, registering seven goals and four assists across 47 senior appearances in all competitions. His electrifying performances on the flank earned him the prestigious PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award, cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s premier teenage assets.
Rangers manager Danny Rohl has publicly expressed a strong desire to bring Moore back to Ibrox for a second loan spell. However, Dortmund’s entry into the race, alongside parallel interest from 1. FC Köln and Eredivisie outfit PSV Eindhoven, has created a highly competitive queue for his signature.
De Zerbi to Assess Future Plans in Pre-Season
Despite the growing collection of prominent continental offers landing on the board’s desk, a final decision regarding Moore’s immediate destination remains on pause. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi wants to closely monitor the player throughout the initial phases of pre-season training before greenlighting any temporary move away from the capital.
Should De Zerbi decide that Moore requires another year of regular first team minutes to aid his progression, another loan will be arranged. With the forward securely tied down to a long-term contract at Tottenham until 2030, Spurs hold all the leverage in negotiations. They will take their time to ensure that any prospective landing spot aligns perfectly with their developmental criteria, completely free of any risky purchase clauses.
