Tottenham have sanctioned the loan of another academy talent.
Roberto De Zerbi has been fully backed in the summer window after keeping Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, and there is no sign of the transfer business slowing down. Spurs are now focusing on fortifying their attack, and we are likely to see a winger and potentially a striker signing before the end of the transfer window.
At the same time, De Zerbi must trim his squad by offloading fringe players and loaning out talents that immediately do not have a future at the club. The exodus has begun with Radu Dragusin joining Fiorentina on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy next summer. Alfie Devine has joined Preston North End for a club-record fee on a five-year contract earlier this week. After capturing Devine, Preston have made an offer to sign Will Lankshear on loan for the 2026/27 campaign.
And there has been another temporary departure of an academy talent.
Yusuf Akhamrich joins Leyton Orient
Tottenham have officially confirmed that Yusuf Akhamrich has joined Leyton Orient on a season-long loan.
Yusuf Akhamrich spent the second half of last season on loan at Bristol Rovers, where he provided six goals and three assists in 19 League Two appearances. The 20-year-old shone in League Two and impressed with his performances for Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient have moved to sign him temporarily. He will now get a chance to showcase his talent in League One, where the intensity, physicality and quality will be higher than the tier below.
The winger must quickly adapt to the demands of League One, having become Leyton’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window. Akhamrich, who was named on the bench for Spurs’ first team in November 2025, will be looking to add directness, guile, pace and goals to Richie Wellens’ side.
“I had a really positive loan last season, and now I want to test myself at League One level,” Akhamrich told Leyton’s official website.
“I like to excite people when I get the ball. I’m a very positive and direct player, and I hope that I can help us to have a good season.”

It is a great opportunity for Akhamrich to showcase his talent at Leyton in League One. Leyton represents a fine club, offering a stable environment and a proven track record of nurturing elite Premier League loanees.
A strong spell at Brisbane Road may help the Moroccan Under-21 international knock on Tottenham’s first-team door next season. He has the talent to break into the first team at White Hart Lane, provided the youngster gets regular minutes and right coaching.
