All the Tottenham players who are set to feature in the World Cup semifinals

The World Cup semifinals are set to begin tomorrow.

Four Tottenham players will be in action across the two 2026 World Cup semifinals this week, a number that reflects just how many key figures Roberto De Zerbi is inheriting as he prepares for his first season in charge. Two semifinals, four players, and at least one Spurs man guaranteed to reach the final.

Pedro Porro got there first. Spain defeated Belgium on Friday night to book their place in Dallas, Texas, where they take on France on Tuesday at 8pm UK time. Porro has started every knockout fixture for Luis de la Fuente’s side so far, and while he came off the bench for two of Spain’s three group games, he made his tournament debut in a 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia. He also got on the scoresheet against Austria in the last 32, capping a campaign that has reminded everyone why Spurs moved to keep him on a deal until 2031.

England face Argentina in World Cup semifinals — and three Tottenham players are involved

Wednesday’s second semifinal in Atlanta (8pm UK time, BBC) is the tie Spurs supporters will be watching most closely. England against Argentina, with Djed Spence on one side and Cristian Romero and Marcos Senesi on the other.

Spence came off the bench again as England edged Norway 2-1 after extra time on Saturday. His two starts in the tournament came against Ghana and DR Congo, and he has featured in every single game. Romero, meanwhile, has started almost everything for Argentina, sitting out only the dead-rubber group stage win over Jordan.

He forced an own goal to see them past Cape Verde in the last 32 and scored in the 3-2 win over Egypt in the round of 16. Senesi, who joined Spurs this summer from Bournemouth, was a late call-up following Leonardo Balerdi‘s injury. He played the full 90 against Jordan and has been an unused substitute in Argentina’s other five matches.
