Tottenham could move on a highly-rated academy talent this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur have been very busy in the transfer market so far, with Roberto De Zerbi adding Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali to his squad after they narrowly avoided relegation on the final day of the Premier League season.
After reshaping the defence and midfield, the Hotspur Way chiefs are looking to improve the quality and depth of the forward line. Simultaneously, they have also started moving on players that are deemed surplus to requirements by De Zerbi. Luka Vuskovic was sold to Brighton for £46m last week, while Radu Dragusin and Alfie Devine have also left the club.
Lucas Bergvall is seeking an exit from White Hart Lane for regular minutes after the big-money additions of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes. The North London club are also open to listening to offers for one of their talented academy kids.
Tottenham ready to listen to offers for Jamie Donley
According to former journalist Darren Witcoop on X, Tottenham will listen to offers for Jamie Donley this summer.
Jamie Donley has represented Tottenham since the age of eight, helped the club’s Under-21s win the Premier League 2 title and made his senior debut away to Manchester City in December 2023. The attacking midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Leyton Orient in 2024/25, scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists in 39 League One appearances as they reached the play-off final.
The Northern Ireland international was recalled from his spell at Stoke City in January and loaned out to Oxford United for the second half of last season. The 21-year-old managed a goal and an assist in 13 appearances for Oxford United, and he has since returned to Spurs after his loan expired.
Donley would be hoping to catch the eye of De Zerbi and his coaching staff in pre-season, with several senior Spurs stars yet to return from their summer break or out injured. Xavi Simons isn’t coming back this year after sustaining an ACL injury in April, while there is no proper timeline for Dejan Kulusevski’s return from a knee injury that he sustained in May 2025. This leaves De Zerbi with just one proper attacking midfielder in James Maddison, who himself is working towards getting 100% fit after recovering from an ACL rupture in April.
As for Donley, he has not progressed as much as many at the club may have hoped over the last couple of years. However, given the current lack of No.10 options, De Zerbi must look to hand the Northern Irishman chances in the pre-season games and see if he can be integrated into the senior side.
