We have seen Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario being linked with a possible Hotspur Way exit this summer as the club looks to sanction his sale and revamp the goalkeeping department under Roberto De Zerbi’s tutelage.
Kinsky in line to take Vicario’s #1 role at Tottenham?
The Italian head coach is known to want a certain playing style from his first-phase players, and given many criticisms surrounding Vicario in the past couple of campaigns, it looks like the former Brighton manager is ready to swap his signatures. In order to do so, we have seen Spurs already offer Kinsky a new contract, which will see the Czech international go into the new season holding that starting spot between the sticks.
There had been a lot of links surrounding a possible move to Inter Milan, but it doesn’t look like that will come off, and Vicario is in a situation where he will have to find other clubs interested in his signature. Alongside Inter, Serie A duo Juventus and Napoli have also been named as probable options for the Tottenham player if he wants to go back to his home country.
Swap deal in line that aids Vicario exit?
In the weekend’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness), they explored the possibility of Guglielmo Vicario moving to Naples this summer, where Vanja Milinković-Savić was the first choice between the sticks with Antonio Conte calling the shots on the touchline. But there has been a change of faces at the helm at Napoli with Massimiliano Allegri taking charge. And the 29-year-old is said to be attracting interest from English top tiers over a possible move.
Hull City was interested, but their proposal is deemed to be not convincing enough, while Leeds United are also looking to sign Vanja, but prospects of that will depend on how their negotiations with Parma go for Zion Suzuki.
Tottenham is tagged as the third option if Vanja is to move to the Premier League this summer. But it is to be seen where this goes given Juventus’ interest in Viario, as they look at him as a viable alternative to Emi Martinez.
If this does come into a possible transfer, then there could be a swap deal around the croaker, which can see Tottenham getting Vanja while Napoli takes away Vicario this summer.
