Tottenham have got an update on the future of one of their targets.
Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to splash the cash, with Roberto De Zerbi’s transfer business for the next season not yet finished.
Spurs have shown that they are willing to pay a premium for Premier League-proven players this summer, as evidenced by the signings of Sandro Tonali, Jan Paul van Hecke and Mateus Fernandes. The North Londoners have now set their sights on a player from a rival Premier League club who they feel would enhance their forward department.
It emerged a couple of weeks ago that Eli Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth is among the attackers of interest to Roberto De Zerbi’s side. Bournemouth are expected to demand over £80m for the richly talented youngster, and it appears that Tottenham may be willing to pay that kind of figure for him.

Eli Kroupi Junior was a revelation in the Premier League last term, impressing with his speed, movement, link-up play and clinical finishing. The Frenchman broke the long-standing record for the most goals by a teenager in his debut Premier League season, netting 13 times in 33 appearances. A host of clubs across Europe have been closely monitoring the 20-year-old following an eye-catching debut season with the Cherries.
Now, new Bournemouth boss Marco Rose has opened up on the speculation surrounding Kroupi’s future. He insists that the south coast club are doing everything possible to show Kroupi and their other young starlets that they should stay put at the Vitality Stadium.
“So far, it’s not a challenge for me, to be honest. The first four days, we are in touch, and my feeling is that the boys are feeling really good here. The club is doing a lot of things to show the players that they are in the right place,” Marco Rose said in his first press conference (h/t The Daily Echo).
“Kroupi made great improvement last season, so I think for him there’s no ceiling. Even he knows that he’s in a good place to improve. He’s playing in Europe, he’ll have many games, and he’s playing in the most competitive and intensive league in the world.”
Eli Junior Kroupi – Difficult deal for Tottenham to crack?
There is no denying Kroupi’s talent and vast potential. The France Under-21 international’s versatility across the front line aligns with De Zerbi’s preference for forwards who can operate in multiple positions, and he’s an obvious long-term successor to Richarlison, whose future remains unresolved. He is a calm and composed finisher as well, and at 20, it is extremely impressive.
However, Bournemouth are not willing to sell him after just one season. Marco Rose wants to keep Kroupi and work with him, and the club do not have immediate pressure to sell the youngster, thanks to him being tied until 2030. This makes it difficult for Tottenham to persuade the Cherries to part ways with their valuable long-term asset, and unless our club bosses get ready to splash a premium again, there is no way Bournemouth are opening the door for Kroupi’s departure.
