Tottenham are set to receive a substantial FIFA payout after several Spurs stars featured prominently at the 2026 World Cup.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to receive a significant financial boost from FIFA, with the official Club Benefits Programme granting the North London club a seven-figure compensation fee for the participation of its players at the World Cup.
According to a financial update shared by fan news account Hotspur Lane on X, Tottenham will be handsomely compensated by world football’s governing body for every player who featured across the tournament.
Under the guidelines of the FIFA Club Benefits Programme, clubs are compensated financially for making their registered players available for international duty during major tournaments.
For the World Cup, FIFA pays participating clubs a standardized fee of $5,000 (approximately £3,730) per day for each individual player. This daily rate accumulates continuously from the start of the tournament preparation period up until the day immediately following each national team’s final match.
Porro and Romero Trigger Maximum Payout Packages
Tottenham’s total compensation figure is heavily bolstered by the deep tournament runs of defenders Pedro Porro and Cristian Romero, both of whom reached the World Cup final with Spain and Argentina, respectively.
Because both players remained with their national teams through the final day of competition, Tottenham will be entitled to two separate 57-day maximum compensation packages. Each of these packages is valued at $285,000 (roughly £212,900) for Porro and Romero individually.
Combined with the daily compensation accrued by Tottenham’s other international representatives across the group stage and knockout rounds, the club’s cumulative payout comfortably enters seven-figure territory. The incoming windfall provides welcome off-pitch revenue as Tottenham continue their summer preparations.
