Tottenham are hoping to bring in attacking reinforcements before the transfer window shuts shop.

Tottenham are now focusing on strengthening their attack during the final few weeks of the summer transfer window, having already brought in reinforcements in defence and midfield. It is important that the Lilywhites sign players who can make an immediate impact in the final third and slot straight into the starting eleven under Roberto de Zerbi. The Lewis family have done well to back De Zerbi in the transfer market by bringing in top-quality players, but it is now important that they splash the cash on an attacking addition in the coming weeks.

The North Londoners are hoping to add more firepower in attack after a disappointing campaign last season. With only 12 goals to his name, Richarlison finished as the club’s top scorer across all competitions. It was a season to forget for the team, with Spurs ending the Premier League campaign just one place above the relegation zone. The onus is now on Roberto de Zerbi to get the best out of his attacking players as the Lilywhites aim to compete at the top end of the table.

Spurs are keen on signing a left-winger in the coming weeks. De Zerbi likes his team to attack from wide areas during quick transitions. As a result, the Lilywhites are focusing on identifying players who can operate effectively from the touchline at N17. With Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert still recovering from ACL injuries, it is important that the North Londoners bring in a replacement before the new season gets underway.

Tottenham not looking to sign AC Milan star Rafael Leao this summer

It comes as no surprise that Tottenham are looking to sign a new winger this summer. Recent reports have linked the club with AC Milan star Rafael Leao. It was claimed that the Lilywhites had met with the player’s representatives and were prepared to sign him on a permanent deal in the coming weeks. Not only that, but the Portuguese international was also said to be prioritising a move to the Premier League, prompting AC Milan to set an asking price of £60m for his services.

Now, however, there appears to be a twist in the transfer saga involving Rafael Leao. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has now claimed,

“I wanted to mention something on Rafael Leao. I wanted to tell you that according to my information, I told you several times there were rumours about Tottenham. Leao is not a target for Tottenham as of today. Should anything change, I will let you know. But as of today, the understanding is that Tottenham are not working on a deal for Rafael Leao.”

As Fabrizio Romano has stated, Spurs are not in the race to sign Rafael Leao at this stage. The Lilywhites believe the deal would be too expensive due to the 27-year-old’s asking price and salary demands. As a result, the North Londoners are prepared to step away from any potential move and instead focus on spending their money on a Premier League-proven player in the coming weeks.

The time has come for Spurs to turn their attention to alternative targets. Recent reports have also linked the club with Manchester City star Savinho. The Brazilian international is keen on a move to N17 and is eager to play under Roberto de Zerbi. The Lilywhites are also willing to meet the asking price for his services, with the club now waiting for the green light from City to pursue the talented winger’s signature. Will the North Londoners end up landing their priority target? Only time will tell.
