Tottenham snubbed as agent reaches rivals for French-born wonderkid

Tottenham have been linked with a boatload of players this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur came into the ongoing summer window on a mission as the North Londoners looked to capitalize on adding quality to their roster to build on the two consecutive seventeenth-place finishes that the Lilywhites endured in the English top tier. And Vinai & Co. have done exactly that as they brought in some marquee players over the offseason.

But these marquee moves haven’t stopped Spurs from dipping into the market to bring in highly regarded young players at Hotspur Way. This is quite in line with the buy them young transfer policy that the Lilywhites incorporated in the final years of the Daniel Levy era at N17.

This policy led the North Londoners to pursue a move for French-born PSG starlet Ibrahim Mbaye, who takes the field for Senegal.

Tottenham had expressed interest in signing him given that he was considering leaving the Ligue 1 giants this summer in search of regular time. There were reports suggesting that the North Londoners inquired about signing Mbaye.

Despite interest from Roberto De Zerbi & Co., according to a recent report from TEAMtalk, the teenager’s representatives are starting to sound out potential suitors for his signing as the agents look to ensure that a PSG exit is secured this offseason, but the report does not mention Tottenham.

Mbaye agents contact Spurs PL rivals

TEAMtalk states that Ibrahim Mbaye’s representatives have contacted Manchester City and Liverpool to get a gist of their interest in their client.

Spurs’ Premier League rivals Aston Villa are also said to be interested in him, and they also held talks for a possible move, but the winger is not interested in playing at Villa Park.

There is a belief that he is ready to compete at the highest level, and that is why he wants to talk with clubs that are competing for silverware.

Tottenham does hold a chance to sign Mbaye; it is all about pushing for him now

While his representatives are pushing for him to move to Man City and Liverpool, let’s be honest, he will not get anywhere near the first team for either club. While if he were to move to Tottenham, there is a chance that he would get some regular game time in the English top tier, given how Roberto De Zerbi as well as Spurs as a club are never shy to throw a young player in the far end and see how he responds.

But it is not as easy as it sounds; Vinai and the team have a massive convincing job to do…
