West Ham ask to return Mateus Fernandes favour as they eye Tottenham star who started all three pre-season friendlies

Tottenham signed Mateus Fernandes for a massive fee.

Tottenham have already sat down with West Ham representatives this summer; it was when they managed to sign Mateus Fernandes from under Manchester United’s noses.

But it looks like the Lilywhites chiefs will sit down with the ones representing the Hammers once again, this time around for the latter pouncing on a player from Tottenham.

West Ham want Tottenham winger

West Ham are said to be looking at Spurs wide forward Manor Solomon as they look to add more firepower to their attack. And reports in Israel as relayed by Sport Witness suggest that the recently relegated London giants are interested in signing the 27-year-old this summer.

Solomon spent the last two seasons on loan away from Hotspur Way, but he is back donning the Lilywhites badge and has traveled down under to Australia and New Zealand with the squad for the ongoing pre-season.

But he is not just a mere number in the roster after having started all three of Tottenham’s preseason games. Though despite that, his agent Ronen Katzav indicated in an interview that Solomon is looking to leave Tottenham this summer.

He said: “Next season? I don’t like to speculate. We have over a month left in the transfer window. What I will say is that the goal will be a permanent transfer, not a loan.”

That is where West Ham comes into the picture…

Nuno Espírito Santo & Co. are looking to make an immediate return to the Premier League. And that shows in the fact that they have managed to keep hold of Jarrod Bowen.

But while they have kept the big man, the Hammers negotiated a marquee exit for Crysencio Summerville. He moves to the Middle East, and it looks like West Ham has identified Solomon as an ideal replacement for the Feyenoord academy graduate.

Solomon finally finding his feet at Tottenham?

Solomon moved to Tottenham in a highly controversial transfer, but he has never gotten that opportunity to express his potential donning the Lilywhites badge. Just as he was settling in, he suffered a massive injury, and then when he got back, he couldn’t get anywhere around the first team. This eventually led to a series of loan transfers before he finally found his feet in the second half of the last season at Fiorentina.

Manor Solomon still has two years left on his contract, and despite whatever his agent says, the fact that he has started three of as many preseason games shows that De Zerbi trusts him, and he could end up keeping him around for the upcoming season.

Would you keep Manor Solomon at Tottenham next season after what you’ve seen from him in the pre-season? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
