The famous sporting venue serves as an absolute fortress for the New Zealand national squad. Carter made his international debut against Wales back in 2003. A young Davies watched that exact game from his family home in Neath. The iconic fly half remains the all time record international points scorer after dominating the sport for nearly two decades. The veteran Lilywhites centre back played the final thirty minutes of the comfortable victory.

Ben Davies reflects on a truly unforgettable sporting moment at Eden Park

The Welsh international eagerly praised the legendary double World Cup winner. He stated, “I grew up a big rugby fan, obviously, and watched Dan Carter dominate against Wales time and time again.” The veteran Tottenham Hotspur defender continued his glowing assessment. He added, “He is an absolute legend. I used to love watching him as a kid.”

The massive overseas tour provides unique bonding opportunities for the entire senior squad. Davies acknowledged the sheer scale of the historic stadium while reflecting on the fixture. He noted, “We have done lots of big things, toured different places, but Eden Park is special.” The confident defender joked that very few Welshmen ever walk off that specific pitch celebrating a victory.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi certainly appreciates the positive atmosphere brewing in the dressing room. The players must rest properly before facing Chelsea later this week. These unique global interactions perfectly highlight the massive ambition driving the current project at Hotspur Way.
