Roberto De Zerbi has teased another blockbuster Tottenham signing, revealing Spurs have completed just 60% of their summer transfer plans.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has revealed that the club is preparing to secure another major transfer “bomba” before the close of the summer transfer window. Speaking in an exclusive interview with football.london correspondent Alasdair Gold, highlighted by Last Word On Spurs on X, the 47-year-old Italian tactician stated that Spurs have only completed around 60% of their intended summer business, despite already spending over £230 million.
When questioned on Tottenham’s relentless activity in the transfer market, De Zerbi detailed his hands-on approach when pursuing marquee targets:
“In the transfer market when I want one player I become like a shark, No chance to say no! The transfer market, it’s not finished for sure, but we completed 60 per cent of our project in the transfer market. Now we have another bomba!”
Asked if the prospective new signing was close to completion, De Zerbi added:
“I hope, but it’s not finished for sure.”
Focus Shifts to Attacking Reinforcements
Tottenham have already undertaken a massive transformation of their squad this summer. Key additions so far include high-profile moves for Sandro Tonali (£100M from Newcastle United), Mateus Fernandes (£85M from West Ham United), and Jan Paul van Hecke (£52M from Brighton & Hove Albion), alongside free agency additions Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dúbravka.
De Zerbi confirmed that the upcoming “bomba” arrival will be an attacker designed to elevate Tottenham’s overall goalscoring productivity. While Spurs remain heavily linked with Manchester City winger Savinho, reports indicate that this imminent arrival could potentially precede or complement that move.
De Zerbi noted that the foundation for Tottenham’s summer strategy was drawn up back in mid-March during negotiations with Technical Director Johan Lange, following his appointment to guide Spurs clear of relegation trouble late last season.
While incoming business remains active, squad outgoings are also expected to continue. De Zerbi reiterated that while he respects the wishes of senior players like Cristian Romero, Lucas Bergvall, and Guglielmo Vicario to seek new challenges, anyone remaining in North London must adhere strictly to his tactical standards and team culture.
