The Nigerian international has been on the radar of several PL clubs for years now.
Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to revamp their offensive roster after rejuvenating their squad for the first two phases in the ongoing summer transfer window. The North Londoners have been moving quite aggressively this offseason under Roberto De Zerbi’s tutelage, and it looks like the Lilywhites are about to do the same in order to bring in a new #9 before the commencement of the new season.
Since Spurs sold Harry Kane, there has been this massive void at the apex of the attack that the chiefs at Hotspur Way have struggled to solve. And this naturally churns into a lack of goals (which was one of the reasons behind the Lilywhites’ struggling performances last season).
It looks like Vinai & Co. are ready to resolve that problem as they look at one of the most potent strikers plying his trade in Europe.
Tottenham make approach for a top striker
According to an exclusive from transfer news expert Ekrem Konur, the North Londoners have made an approach to sign Nigerian international Victor Osimhen from Süper Lig club Galatasaray. He reports that the initial approach from the Premier League giants is for a fee worth around £50M-£55M but goes on to clarify that the Turkish champions will not be open to sell him for that fee.
In his report he states that Gala is looking for a fee close to £65M if they are to let go of the 27-year-old. This is the kind of gap that generally ends up getting converted into a transfer these days. And Osimhen has that sort of attributes which fit almost seamlessly into what De Zerbi has needed out of his #9s at his past clubs.

But that being said, Tottenham are not alone in the race for his signature. They are joined by the English top-tier duo of Manchester United and Chelsea alongside Spanish giant Atletico Madrid. The latter had been looking at Arsenal center-forward Viktor Gyökeres, but it looks like they have pivoted to Victor Osimhen.
Victor Osimhen certainly brings goals
In Victor Osimhen you get assured goals. He has banged goals everywhere he has been. To bring some context to it, he netted 22 goals in the 2025/26 season while also providing 8 assists in the meantime, showing how he is exactly the lethal presence that the Lilywhites need upfront.
We will see where this one goes, but by the looks of it Tottenham are already leading the pack to attain his services.
