Tottenham have been very busy in the transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur has moved quite aggressively in the summer transfer window, and that shows in the six players that have made Hotspur Way their home this offseason. But with a wide range of income done, the Lilywhites shift focus to selling, which can possibly make way for more players before the commencement of the new season.
Tottenham change Guglielmo Vicario stance
There was always a mass exodus online for Roberto De Zerbi & Co. after finishing two consecutive seasons in seventeenth place in the English top tier. And Guglielmo Vicario is among the ones linked with a move away from N17 this summer.
The Italian had been on the end of a lot of criticism in the past couple of seasons, especially when it came to his abilities to dominate the box when it came to dead-ball situations. And given that Tottenham have already handed Antoin Kinsky a new contract, everything points to the Czech international taking up the number one position in the middle of the sticks going into the first game against Brentford about three weeks from now.
Going into the final weeks of the last season, Vicario was subject to links with a move to Inter Milan. But those links calmed down in recent weeks given the Serie A champions brought in Ivan Provedel over signing the 29-year-old. And this situation meant Juventus and Napoli came into the picture for his signature.
Though weeks passed, nothing advanced. And now Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed that the Lilywhites have changed their stance with Vicario. He states that instead of a straight sale, Tottenham are now open to loaning Vicario this summer.
Juventus looks the most likely destination for Vicario
At the time of writing, Juventus looks like the most likely destination for the 29-year-old. Juve was initially looking to sign Zion Suzuki, but the Japanese international is negotiating with PSG, leaving them to look for other options in the market. And Vicario is an established alternative, especially if they cannot land Emi Martinez.
With Vicario keen to move to his home country, complemented by Tottenham being open to a loan deal, this deal now looks set if Juventus wants to get it done.
We will see where this goes from here, but if you ask most of the Tottenham supporters, there is a wide expectation that he would be lining up between the sticks in Serie A by the time we come to the end of the ongoing summer window.
