Tottenham have been linked with a shock move for Chelsea outcast.
Roberto De Zerbi has prioritised adding Premier League-proven, experienced players to his roster at Tottenham Hotspur. This has seen the North London club break their transfer record twice this summer for Mateus Fernandes and then Sandro Tonali.
With all six of the club’s additions so far being either goalkeepers, defenders or midfielders, the N17 chiefs are now totally committed to fortifying the attacking areas of the squad. De Zerbi has confirmed that he is expecting two or three more signings before the September 1 transfer deadline. The Italian coach wants to add more Premier League-proven commodities to his squad after the troubles that occurred last season.
Reports from July suggested that Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi was firmly on Tottenham’s radar. Unfortunately, Kroupi suffered a fifth metatarsal fracture in training and has undergone surgery, ruling him out of action for three to four months. This has led to the club bosses scouring the transfer market for alternative targets to Kroupi to bolster their forward line.

It emerged earlier this week that Tottenham are monitoring Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson. Spurs are one of the clubs showing interest in the 25-year-old, who is on the Blues’ chopping block this summer. There has been no official approach or direct contact between Spurs and Chelsea yet.
Nicolas Jackson spent the last season on loan with Bayern Munich, scoring 11 goals and supplying four assists in 34 appearances. After Bayern Munich decided against triggering a buy clause, the African forward returned to Chelsea last month. However, the 25-year-old is not in new boss Xabi Alonso’s plans, and the Blues are looking to sell him this summer. He is valued at £65m.
Now, reputed journalist Alasdair Gold has provided an update on the situation. He claims on X that Tottenham are not expected to explore a move for Jackson in the summer transfer window.
Jackson has the qualities that could benefit Tottenham going forward, but going by Gold’s revelation, our club bosses aren’t exploring a move for him. There might be different reasons behind it. The Lilywhites could be put off by Jackson’s £65 million valuation, while Chelsea might not be looking to sell to a London rival. Nonetheless, Spurs are very much in the market for a new No.9 amid the inconsistency and injury issues of Richarlison and Dominic Solanke.
As far as strikers across Europe are concerned, Club Brugge’s Nicolo Tresoldi is wanted by Tottenham. Standing at 6ft 1in tall, Tresoldi is a classic No.9 and would cost reasonably cheaper than Jackson.
