Tottenham duo Cristian Romero and Pape Matar Sarr inch closer to exit from N17

Skipper Cristian Romero and midfield star Pape Matar Sarr both are sure of their decision to leave Tottenham this summer. The former has a line of suitors ready for his signature as well, but for Sarr, the wait might prove to be just a tad bit longer.

According to Football365, Inter will make their final call on the potential signing for Romero sooner rather than later. As for Sarr, he continues to attract interest from other clubs, with the Senegal international seeing himself pushed down the pecking order at Tottenham following the arrivals of Tonali and Fernandes.

RDZ is happy with his midfield depth and would likely sanction an exit for the 23-year-old Senegalese international without much fuss, provided that Spurs get the right kind of money.

Exit!

Having already been offered to Brentford earlier in the window without a move materialising, and with old reported interest from Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and PSG never quite converting into concrete bids, Sarr is actively looking to leave before deadline day. Aston Villa the latest to show interest, as the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes continue to squeeze his path into the side.

Between the two, we would miss the presence of Romero more, considering he was quite a rock at the back, despite his discipline and conduct off the pitch. He’s a World Cup winner with Argentina, and any club would naturally find it difficult to replace such a figure, unless you’re Real Madrid or Liverpool.

Let’s see what happens with this saga, though. He’s definitely a smart option to have around on the bench with his quality, but to be fair to the player, he’d want to play more often than sit, so you can’t blame him for wanting to take the first train out of the club.
