Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a fruitful summer transfer window, signing as many as six players so far. There is still some business left to do, as Roberto De Zerbi looks to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the European spots.

Spurs have done well in the pre-season games, winning all four. It took a last-gasp Richarlison winner to beat Chelsea 2-1 in Sydney at the weekend. Due to World Cup commitments and some players on the sidelines, Roberto De Zerbi is yet to work with a full squad.

Dejan Kulusevski and Mohammed Kudus have been sidelined for a very long time. Kulusevski has not played for Spurs since May 2025, missing the Europa League final win over Manchester United and the 2025/26 campaign in its entirety after suffering a patella injury. Kudus, meanwhile, has been missing since January with a quad problem.

In positive news for De Zerbi and the Tottenham fans, both players have taken a positive step towards full fitness. In a video footage released by the club’s official X account, Kulusevski and Kudus are seen working their way towards fitness. The pair were spotted on the training pitches at Hotspur Way jogging and doing on-the-ball work.

Kudus has entered the next phase of his rehabilitation. The Ghanaian international is in for a massive campaign at White Hart Lane after a quad injury in January curtailed his progress. For now, De Zerbi can rely on him, with the creative winger expected to return to training soon.

As for Kulusevski, the 26-year-old’s rehabilitation seems to be going well as he has been seen working on the ball. After nearly 15 months out, the Swedish international is edging slowly closer to a return after getting back on the grass. De Zerbi recently spoke about the creative midfielder’s importance to his side, but does not want to rush him back onto the pitch after a lengthy layoff.

Kulusevski’s rehab has been long and taxing, difficult to track from the outside, marked by varying reports. This has seen the club not put out a specific timeline for the creative midfielder’s return, prioritising a fully fit player over rushing it. With Kudus close to returning to training soon, there is no desperate need to hurry Kulusevski back before he is fully ready for action.
