The 26 year old Swedish international has faced a particularly lengthy road back to full fitness. He has been completely out of action since May 2025 after sustaining a severe right patella injury. That devastating blow occurred during a fierce Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace. He required surgery and underwent a vital procedure on 14 May.

The creative midfielder has worked tirelessly during his demanding recovery programme over the last year. Returning to the training pitches alongside his attacking teammate represents a huge milestone in his journey. The club desperately needs his elite vision and technical quality in the final third. His eventual integration will provide a crucial attacking outlet.

The talented Ghana international has also endured a highly frustrating period on the treatment table. He has been ruled out since sustaining a significant quad injury against Sunderland in January. The medical staff carefully managed his initial recovery, but he suffered an unfortunate April setback. He was nearing a return before that cruel blow delayed his progress.

Both players were recently put through a rigorous running session to build up their physical load. They successfully finished the intensive session with some light ball work under careful supervision. An official Tottenham update confirmed they are targeting a return during the upcoming season.

Having these two elite attackers available will drastically improve the overall quality of the squad. The ambitious North Londoners expect to challenge for major honours, and squad depth is absolutely paramount. Their eventual return will definitely excite the incredibly loyal supporters.
