Tottenham are exploring the striker market as the search for a new attacker continues

Tottenham have focused on bringing in Premier League-proven players this summer as part of their major squad overhaul. Roberto de Zerbi has played a crucial role in ensuring that the Lilywhites sign players who are ready to make an instant impact at N17 in the first team. As a result, the North Londoners have already broken their transfer record twice in the past month, first by signing Mateus Fernandes and then Sandro Tonali a few days later.

Fans have noticed that Spurs have managed to bolster their defence and midfield during the opening weeks of the transfer window. However, there has been very little progress in adding more firepower up front. The Lilywhites have simply not managed to get deals for a new attacker over the line in recent weeks, making it difficult for Roberto de Zerbi to plan for the future.

Spurs are working hard to sign a new striker who could share the goalscoring burden with Dominic Solanke this season. As the North Londoners managed to score just 48 goals in the Premier League last season, bringing in a new striker is crucial as the club aims to compete at the top end of the league table. Solanke’s injury record is also not ideal, forcing the Lilywhites to bring in a replacement as De Zerbi looks to kickstart a new era at N17.

Tottenham keep track of Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson

It comes as no surprise that Tottenham are hoping to bring in a new striker in the coming weeks. With Richarlison potentially heading to Everton this summer, it is important that the Lilywhites sign a player who could fill the void left by the Brazilian. As a result, the North Londoners are all set to splash the cash on a prolific forward who could compete with Dominic Solanke for a place in the starting eleven in the coming months.

Recent reports have linked Spurs with Chelsea outcast Nicolas Jackson. The Senegal international is on the Blues’ chopping block this summer after returning from a season-long loan at Bayern Munich. He ended up scoring 11 goals and providing four assists for the Bavarians last season, making it clear that he still has plenty to offer at the top level. As a result, the Lilywhites have identified him as a potential Richarlison replacement for the upcoming campaign.

However, there is a new twist in the transfer saga involving the prolific forward. As per Ekrem Konur (via X), Aston Villa are exploring a loan deal with an option to buy for Nicolas Jackson this summer. Unai Emery is keen to reunite with the Senegal international, with the Villa boss pushing for his club to get the deal done. Chelsea are also open to letting the 25-year-old leave, with the Blues placing an asking price of around €60m for his signature.

A deal worth exploring?

Nicolas Jackson would certainly provide a different dynamic alongside Dominic Solanke in the final third if he decides to move to Spurs this summer. At just 25, the prolific forward still has his best years ahead of him as he looks to reignite his career. The Senegal international thrives in transitions and likes to run into channels, making him an ideal fit for Roberto de Zerbi’s system. He could also operate from the wing, providing tactical flexibility when required.

The only question that remains is whether Chelsea would allow Nicolas Jackson to join their bitter rivals Tottenham. In reality, a deal seems unlikely, and it looks like the Senegal international will head to Aston Villa instead if the Blues do decide to cash in on him in the coming weeks.
