Tottenham midfielder is emerging as a target for Saudi Pro League club.

Tottenham Hotspur are clearing the decks at the moment. They have agreed to sell Djed Spence to Italian champions Inter Milan for €31.5m, while Cristian Romero is edging closer to a move to Spanish club Atletico Madrid.

Roberto De Zerbi still has a couple of players who might have problems getting regular minutes in the upcoming season. The big-money arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes have left the futures of a few midfielders at the club in limbo, and one of those is Pape Matar Sarr.

Tottenham are open to listening to offers for Pape Matar Sarr this summer. The Senegalese international struggled for game time towards the end of last season. Due to internal competition and mid-season AFCON duties, the 23-year-old managed only 26 Premier League appearances.

Sarr will be allowed to leave if suitable offers arrive and has been the subject of interest from a couple of Premier League clubs, as well as other European sides. Now, according to a report from The Daily Mail, Al Ahli are exploring a late move for the Spurs midfielder. The Saudi Arabian side want Sarr to bolster their midfield for the 2026/27 season.

The Senegalese star has a contract at White Hart Lane that runs until 2031, and the Lilywhites are believed to be demanding £30m for his services. The combative midfielder failed to start any of Tottenham’s final six games of last season and believes he can play more regularly elsewhere, which is true given the talent, energy and versatility he possesses.

Premier League duo Brentford and Aston Villa have been showing an interest in Sarr too as they each aim to bolster their quality in midfield. If he wants to continue playing in the Premier League, the Tottenham man could be tempted by the prospect of joining Aston Villa due to them playing in the Champions League in the forthcoming season. A move to Brentford would not be bad either, allowing him to develop his skills under the highly-rated tactician Keith Andrews.

Tottenham would be hoping Al Ahli’s entrance into the race pushes up the price, but it remains to be seen if Sarr is open to a move to the Middle East so early in his career.
