The beloved figure last stood on the touchline managing the Ghana national squad over two years ago. Many dedicated fans wondered if his extended absence had permanently ended his long coaching journey. However, the former fullback quickly dismissed those lingering thoughts, speaking enthusiastically about missing daily professional football management.

“I’m only two and a half years, really, since my last role with the Ghana national team,” Hughton explained to official club reporters. The beloved tactician firmly believes he still has plenty to offer. “So, I’m not so far away from it,” he confidently declared while observing the senior squad.

Being surrounded by elite professional athletes clearly sparked something familiar inside the experienced tactician. The glorious late summer weather in the capital made the immaculate training surfaces look incredibly inviting. Hughton could not hide his absolute admiration for the magnificent modern setup provided by the club hierarchy.

“I think there are a few things, one is the feeling of being on the training pitch,” Hughton noted with a warm smile. The lack of matchday pressure allowed him to truly appreciate the moment. “Especially this time of year, start of the season, the weather’s good,” he happily added.

Nothing compares to the thrill of developing talent on the grass. “The pitches are good, you haven’t got the pressure of results and playing on these surfaces,” the respected manager remarked. “Look at them!” he pointed out. “It’s always the best part of the job as a manager, being on the training pitch,” he concluded. Fans hope to see him managing again soon.
