Tottenham are keen on bolstering their attack by signing a new striker this summer
Tottenham are hoping to bring in attacking reinforcements before the transfer window shuts in a few days’ time. It is fair to suggest that the Lilywhites have sleepwalked through the second half of the transfer window after doing well to bolster their defence and midfield earlier in July. The constant delays in negotiations and the inability to reach an agreement over the transfer fees for certain targets have made it difficult for Roberto de Zerbi to field a strong attacking lineup.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the North Londoners are prioritising a move for a new attacker before the September 1st deadline. As things stand, De Zerbi has Dominic Solanke and Richarlison as his two main centre-forward options. Neither player has enjoyed a highly successful spell at N17, with constant injury concerns and inconsistency in front of goal hampering their progress. As a result, Spurs are now aiming to bring in a new striker for the upcoming season.
Multiple reports have suggested that Richarlison is still facing an uncertain future at N17 this summer. The Brazilian reportedly wants out amid strong transfer links with Juventus in recent weeks. It seems as though the Lilywhites are also open to parting ways with the prolific striker, but only at the right price, as they believe the 29-year-old still has something to offer under Roberto de Zerbi.
Tottenham are fighting hard to land Chelsea outcast Nicolas Jackson this summer
Tottenham are hoping to add more firepower in the final third before the new Premier League season commences this weekend. The Lilywhites managed to score just 48 goals in the league last season as they finished only a place above the relegation zone. So, it makes complete sense why the North Londoners are hoping to bring in a new striker to share the goalscoring burden with Dominic Solanke this season.
Recent reports have linked Spurs with Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson. The Senegal international has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the arrival of Danny Welbeck. As a result, the Blues have placed the prolific striker on the transfer list, slapping a €70m price tag on him as they look to cash in on the 25-year-old before the transfer window shuts.
However, Spurs might need to fend off competition to land the prolific striker this summer. As per Nicolo Schira (via X), Nicolas Jackson is attracting interest from various clubs across Europe. Aston Villa and Atletico Madrid are interested in signing the Senegal international as they look to bolster their attack for the upcoming season. It is also believed that the 25-year-old wants to reunite with Unai Emery at Villa Park after previously working with the manager during their time together at Villarreal.
Spurs do not appear to have a realistic chance of signing Nicolas Jackson this summer. As a result, the club has already started looking for alternatives, with the Lilywhites focusing heavily on bringing in Manchester City star Omar Marmoush as Richarlison’s long-term replacement. The Egypt international, along with his teammate Savinho, is reportedly on the verge of joining the North Londoners for a fee of around £150m in the coming days. So, it goes without saying that Tottenham are preparing to welcome a player with a high ceiling in Marmoush as they get ready to kickstart a new era under Roberto de Zerbi.
