The N17 faithful have yet another brilliant reason to be excited about the future of the academy setup. It represents a formidable start to the youth season and builds tremendous momentum following their opening victory against Reading. The resilient hosts actually started the match brightly and even struck the crossbar during a tense opening ten minutes.

However, the North Londoners took absolute control when Armend Muslika whipped a clever free kick directly around the defensive wall. The talented midfielder then crashed a fantastic shot into the top corner from twenty yards out to double the overall advantage.

A Ruthless Second Half Display In Norfolk

Manager Jamie Carr saw his determined side enter the halftime break with a comfortable and thoroughly deserved two goal cushion. The visiting side completely killed the game off immediately after the restart with a rapid flurry of brilliant team goals.

Toju Wellspring rammed home a dangerous delivery before Oliver Boast steered an excellent cross into the back of the net. Norwich grabbed a brief consolation goal from the penalty spot, but the relentless away side simply refused to slow their tempo.

Boast soon fired in his second strike from a penalty of his own to completely restore the heavy four goal advantage. Melvyn Kabongolo eventually put the icing on the cake by sweeping in his first goal for the youth side late on.

Carr frankly told official club media that the opening twenty minutes of the match were “disappointing”. He heavily praised the young squad because their overall “quality in the final third was better” and resulted in more goals.

Attention now swiftly turns to a crucial cup fixture on the road against Derby County this coming Wednesday afternoon.
