Tottenham are in dire need of an attacker.
Tottenham have been quite aggressive in how they are going about their transfers in the ongoing summer window. And with the defense and midfield business solved, the North Londoners are finally getting about their business in the attacking front.
And the latest reports around Spurs suggest that there could be a late twist around a player who has been briefly bound to move to North London.
Both Savinho and Omar Marmoush are expected to move to Tottenham in the coming days from Manchester City. Singing both of them at N17 would be an end of what has been a summer-long chain of news and negotiations. But Tottenham and De Zerbi will not be stopping there with their offensive recruitment.
Both Cody Gakpo and Nicolas Jackson have been mentioned as targets at N17, and Vinai & Co. would be moving for one or both if the right deal presents itself before the ongoing window shuts.
Gakpo alternative to Leeds?
And with Manchester City entering the race for Gakpo, Tottenham had planned on considering Chelsea outcast Mykhaylo Mudryk as an alternative to the Liverpool star. Nicolo Schira went on to claim that Tottenham had an agreement in principle over personal terms with Gakpo and they had put Mudryk as a genuine Plan B if Cody Gakpo to Tottenham didn’t materialise.

But that alternative could well be out of the market, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano now claiming that Spurs’ English top-tier rivals Leeds United are pushing hard to land the Ukrainian winger. Daniel Farke & Co. apparently have a loan proposal in the works as talks continue between two clubs, which could see Mudryk ply his trade at Elland Road this season.

Author Opinion
The former Shakhtar man has been looking for some regular football under his belt, and that is where a loan move to Leeds would make sense for him. And to aid his wishes, Chelsea is also comfortable in loaning him out.
But while it suits best for West Londoners and Leeds, Tottenham can end up being left with nowhere to turn. Though none of it would concern Spurs if they could end up signing Gakpo in the first place.
We will see where this goes in the coming days, but if that Gakpo deal starts looking difficult, Vinai & Co. need to start pivoting to Mudryk sooner, given he could possibly be a Leeds player if they act too late.
