Tottenham still have work to do when it comes to outgoings.
Tottenham Hotspur have been trimming their squad in recent weeks after spending heavily in the summer transfer window.
Several players have left the club, including experienced pros such as Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Guglielmo Vicario. There are a few talents who could well struggle for regular minutes in North London this season, given Roberto De Zerbi’s big spending spree. Unsurprisingly, they have been linked with an exit from the club.
Newly-promoted Ipswich Town have no interest in Tottenham duo
According to journalist Alex Jones on X, newly-promoted Ipswich Town have no interest in Tottenham duo Wilson Odobert and Tyrese Hall.
Wilson Odobert moved to Tottenham from Burnley in the summer of 2024. The young winger has struggled with form and fitness in North London. The Frenchman featured 24 times for Spurs last season, before he suffered an unfortunate ACL injury in February against Newcastle United at home. The 21-year-old is still recovering from it and is unlikely to return to action in 2026.
Meanwhile, Tyrese Hall is a product of the famed Spurs academy. He joined Notts County on a season-long loan last year, featuring 34 times. He helped Notts County earn promotion to League One in May, with Martin Paterson’s side beating Salford City 3-0 in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.
Both Odobert and Hall are not expected to get minutes at Tottenham this season. Hall must continue his development by going out on loan again. The creative midfielder is currently part of our Under-21s and scored for his side in the 3-0 win over Newcastle United in the opening game of the Premier League 2 season on Monday night. The English talent is clearly a notch above his peers in the Under-21s and must seek a loan move away to taste men’s football again.
As far as Odobert is concerned, it is a long road of recovery from an ACL injury for the winger. He must fully focus on his rehab as there is no point for the French talent seeking a loan move away from the club. No club will want to sign a player currently sidelined with a serious knee problem. Spurs will not welcome him back until the new year and beyond.
Unsurprisingly, Ipswich Town are not in for Odobert. Hall could be a good option in midfield for the Tractor Boys, who have significantly strengthened their squad with 11 new signings, including Julio Enciso, Chuba Akpom, Emersonn, Daizen Maeda and Sasa Lukic. At the moment, though, there are no links to our academy boy.
