‘Absolute steal’ – Journo hails Tottenham’s transfer plan to land Everton attacker this summer

Tottenham are keen on bolstering their attack by bringing in further attacking reinforcements this week.

Tottenham have shown plenty of ambition and intent in the transfer market by signing Premier League-proven players in recent months. The Lilywhites are on the verge of completing a major rebuild this summer, backing Roberto de Zerbi to deliver the goods and get the club back to where it belongs in the league table. There is a growing sense of optimism in and around N17 regarding the North London club’s sensational transfer business over the last two months.

Spurs did well to sign the likes of Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, and Andy Robertson to fix a leaky defence during the early stages of the transfer window. The club then shifted its focus towards rebuilding the midfield by splashing the cash on Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. The Lilywhites, for the first time ever, managed to breach the £100m mark to sign the latter from Newcastle United as well. And to top it all off, the North Londoners also swooped in to sign Savio and Omar Marmoush from Manchester City to strengthen the attack.

There is still some hope that Spurs will be able to bring in additional attacking reinforcements before the transfer window shuts in a few hours’ time. The Lilywhites are busy planning some outgoings, with Mikey Moore and Richarlison linked with moves away from N17 in two separate deals. As a result, the North Londoners would need to bring in replacements who could fill the void left behind by the two attacking players this summer.

Tottenham are on the verge of signing Everton star Iliman Ndiaye

Tottenham have shown no signs of slowing down this summer as the club continues to back Roberto de Zerbi in the transfer market. Recent reports have suggested that the Lilywhites have struck an agreement in principle with Everton for Iliman Ndiaye’s signature for £60m before the transfer window shuts. The move would see Richarlison head to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for £35m in a separate deal altogether.

Iliman Ndiaye has also agreed personal terms with the North Londoners as he aims to take the next step in his career this season. Now, Mitch Fretton has praised Spurs’ transfer plan to land the Senegal international on such short notice before deadline day. Taking to X, Fretton said,

“That deal for Ndiaye might end up being the best of the summer, effectively £25m for him is an absolute steal, buzzing!”

Everton and Spurs are locked in negotiations for Iliman Ndiaye and Richarlison. If the deals for both players go through, then the Lilywhites will find themselves signing the Senegal international for just £25m. And Mitch Fretton is right in suggesting that it would be smart business for the North Londoners, who would get a much better player for an absolute steal if things go their way. So, fans will now hope that Richarlison agrees to a move to Merseyside as Tottenham aim to bring in a player of Ndiaye’s calibre as part of a domino effect.

Signing Iliman Ndiaye would instantly upgrade Spurs’ attack under Roberto de Zerbi. The player fits the system and can easily play across different attacking positions. The Senegal international is press-resistant, can retain the ball in tight spaces, and is also an elite ball-carrier. He works hard off the ball and likes to carve out chances by creating space for other players. At 26, the player still has his peak years ahead of him and would be an instant starter for the Lilywhites under the Italian tactician.
