Mudryk has formally rejected a move to Leeds United in order to play under De Zerbi at Hotspur Way.
Mixed reaction for Mykhaylo Mudryk?
In terms of pure footballing ability, it is quite clear to see that Mykhaylo Mudryk would add some much-needed flair and urgency in the final third for Spurs. Roberto de Zerbi knows the player well from their days at Shakhtar Donetsk, and the Italian tactician could easily help the talented winger get back to his absolute best in the coming months. The 25-year-old operates from the left, likes to isolate defenders, thrives in tight spaces, and is an elite ball-carrier.
However, it is important to note that Mudryk recently returned to Chelsea’s first-team setup following a 20-month suspension. So, the Ukraine international lacks match fitness and will need some time to get back to his best this season. This is something that Spurs cannot afford in the final third, as they need players who can instantly hit the ground running under De Zerbi at N17.
