Roberto De Zerbi has named Tottenham’s 25-man Premier League squad for the season.
The expensive squad overhaul that head coach Roberto De Zerbi demanded at the end of last season have been fulfilled by the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy.
The North London outfit brought in as many as 10 new players by splashing close to £400m, and there have been plenty more in departures. They wrapped up their summer transfer business by adding Tosin Adarabioyo and Mykhaylo Mudryk to their squad from Chelsea.
Following the end of the summer transfer window, Roberto De Zerbi has named his Premier League 25-man squad for the 2026/27 season, and there have been a few surprising picks and snubs.
Dejan Kulusevski makes the cut in the 25-man Tottenham squad
Richarlison’s absence is understandable, given the forward is in talks to join Trabzonspor. He has already agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor and is pushing Tottenham to agree on a fee with the Turkish outfit.
Interestingly, De Zerbi has included Dejan Kulusevski in his 25-man Premier League squad. The Tottenham boss discussed the creative midfielder’s progress in his press conference before the Newcastle United game, saying that the 26-year-old was “improving day by day” and that he hoped to include him in Tottenham’s Premier League squad list.
Dejan Kulusevski has returned to full training at Hotspur Way, after more than 15 months out injured. The Sweden international has been working slowly but steadily towards a comeback from a serious knee injury which has kept him out since May 2025. He injured his right patella during a Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace on May 11, 2025, and underwent knee patella surgery three days later.
The playmaker had to undergo more surgeries after several setbacks, which kept delaying his return. This also saw Kulusevski miss the 2026 World Cup, but he has continued to work hard behind the scenes towards a return. And there finally appears to be light at the end of the tunnel for him.
Getting Kulusevski fully fit and running remains a massive priority for De Zerbi and his coaching staff. Returning to the training pitches after missing the entire 2025/26 season is a personal milestone for the Swedish star. The 26-year-old’s inclusion in the 25-man squad has restored faith among Tottenham fans that Kulusevski is not far away from returning to first-team action.
