Tottenham came into the new season with a preseason high, a high that flooded the blood of Lilywhites supporters with the adrenaline of three points weekly. But the season has been far from what we saw from this lot in the run up to the campaign.
Two consecutive losses leaves Roberto De Zerbi’s side staring at all the aggressive approaches in the transfer window but in humiliation. We saw Tottenham concede five in those two games but score none and this has been a historic low in Spurs Premier League history. And this leaves Tottenham in a familiar position at the bottom of the table looking up before September has even properly begun.
And in all of this chaos, the Lilywhites will take a trip to the City Ground with a mighty job in front of them.

Team News: Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur
Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest had a quieter business in comparison to the Lilywhites, but there was a highlight arrival at City Ground in Daniel Munoz, who moved the Oliver Glasner pathway to reunite with the head coach as he joined Forest from Crystal Palace. And he is expected to come into the side straightaway in that right wing-back position. Him coming in would mean Ola Aina will have to make way.
Other than that, Glasner should have a strong side available at his disposal.
Tottenham Hotspur
Coming to Tottenham, transfer deadline day did bring fresh reinforcements to N17.
We saw Mykhaylo Mudryk reuniting with De Zerbi in a temporary transfer from Chelsea. Coming from the Bridge was also Tosin Adarabioyo, who comes to Tottenham in a permanent move that will see the Lilywhites replace the outgoing Kevin Danso in the ranks.
And both of the former West Londoners will be in contention to play from the get go if needed.
There is more positive for Tottenham fans on the fitness side of things as well, given that the duo of Savio and James Maddison are pushing to play after their respective knocks. But that being said, all three of Wilson Odobert, Xavi Simons, and Dejan Kulusevski will still be unavailable given their long-term injuries.
We saw former West Ham star Mohammed Kudus make his long-awaited return to the side after his appearance from the bench vs Newcastle. And he could be in line to make his first start since January for the North Londoners this weekend.
Predicted Lineup
Nottingham Forest: Sels; Milenkovic, Cunha, Murillo; Munoz, Schlager, McAtee, Williams; Gibbs-White, Ndoye; Jesus
Tottenham Hotspur: Kinsky, Porro, Van Hecke, Van de Ven, Udogie, Tonali, Bentancur, Kudus, Fernandes, Tel, Marmoush
Prediction
City Ground is a tough place to visit; it is compact, and they make it loud. Even the best teams find it difficult to go away and play there. And “difficult” is exactly the word that Oliver Glasner would be hoping to make it for the Lilywhites. But Tottenham did show a lot of improvement in their game vs Newcastle, and Roberto De Zerbi would be hoping to stop that losing run and get points on board this weekend.
Nottingham 1 – 1 Tottenham
