Antonin Kinsky explains why draw vs. Nottingham Forest was a step in the right direction for Tottenham

Tottenham ended their two-game losing run in the Premier League by clinching a point at Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham Hotspur registered their first point of the 2026/27 Premier League season on Saturday when they drew 0-0 with Nottingham Forest.

Roberto De Zerbi was left frustrated on the sidelines once again as he watched his side extend their winless Premier League run to three matches. The 47-year-old expressed overall satisfaction with his players’ physical output while pointing out the exact moments where poor decision-making cost the North Londoners their maiden win of the Premier League campaign.

Despite an expensive squad overhaul overseen by Roberto De Zerbi, the investment has yielded zero Premier League victories and zero goals across 270 minutes of top-flight football, matching an ancient low not seen at the club since 1974.

Antonin Kinsky makes admission after Nottingham Forest stalemate

Spurs technically experienced an improvement on Matchday 3 of the season in the sense that they drew at Nottingham Forest and broke the two-game losing run. It also marked the Lilywhites’ first clean sheet of the campaign, thanks to a better defensive organisation and unity shown by the players.

Antonin Kinsky was understandably happy to register his first shutout as the club’s new No.1 after conceding five goals in the opening two league fixtures against Brentford and Newcastle United. And the young goalkeeper thinks his side are a work in progress and on the up after clinching a valuable point on their travels at the weekend.

“Yes, it was a difficult game, but on the other hand, it was exactly what we expected,” Antonin Kinsky told the club media (h/t Football London).

“I think, from the defensive point of view, well done. The zero at the final result speaks for itself. I think today, as I said before, the intensity and everything we put in was different than in the last games, and I think it’s different in a way that it has to look like this all the time.

“I think we can be happy with this, and we can build from that.”

Problems in attack well-documented

In their opening three Premier League fixtures, Spurs have not scored a single goal. Not one. Roberto De Zerbi’s side have had issues creating clear-cut chances and putting them away. This comes after the Italian tactician bolstered his attacking unit with the signings of Savio, Omar Marmoush and Mykhaylo Mudryk.

While the North Londoners recorded their first league point and first clean sheet of the campaign, the ongoing goal drought remains the primary talking point around the club. We are yet to solve the attacking deficiencies of last term, and signing just new players won’t work out. Players such as Savio, Marmoush and Mudryk need time to bed in and develop chemistry with the likes of Dominic Solanke, Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel.

There is an understanding that Tottenham will inevitably get better offensively and score goals, but our supporters don’t just want to sit there and wait for it. They want to see the ball hitting the back of the net consistently and points being registered.
