Tottenham search for Richarlison exit as desired move to Turkish giants collapses

Tottenham are exploring Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Portugal as they seek a new club for Richarlison after his Trabzonspor move collapsed.

Tottenham Hotspur are actively working to find a new club for wantaway striker Richarlison after his proposed move to Turkish side Trabzonspor collapsed. According to reporting from TEAMtalk via Transfer News Live on X, Spurs hierarchy and the player’s representatives are now assessing alternative global markets to secure an immediate departure for the 29-year-old Brazilian forward.

The breakdown of negotiations with Trabzonspor leaves Richarlison in a precarious position. Earlier discussions had centered on a mutual termination or contract payoff to grant the striker free agent status, allowing him to complete a move to Turkey outside the standard European transfer window. However, with those talks breaking down without an agreement, Tottenham have been forced to broaden their search for interested suitors across active international markets.

Despite the setback in Turkey, both Tottenham and Richarlison remain fully aligned in their desire to finalize a transfer away from North London. Spurs are keen to clear his wages from the books, while the player understands his path to first-team football under Roberto De Zerbi has been completely closed off.

Saudi Pro League, Brazil, and Portugal Explored as Potential Outlets

With most primary European transfer windows now shut, Tottenham are exploring non-traditional routes to facilitate Richarlison’s departure. A potential deal with clubs in the Saudi Pro League is currently under consideration, where financial terms and registration flexibility could offer a swift solution for all parties.

Additionally, potential moves to Brazil or Portugal have not been ruled out. A return to his homeland in South America or a fresh start in the Portuguese Liga remain viable options as Spurs explore every available avenue to resolve the Brazilian’s future before the mid-season window opens in January.

The urgency behind finding an immediate landing spot stems directly from De Zerbi’s squad decisions. Richarlison was officially omitted from Tottenham’s registered 25-man Premier League squad submission, leaving him completely ineligible for domestic top-flight matches during the first half of the season.

With summer arrivals Omar Marmoush, Sávio, and Mykhailo Mudryk taking precedence in De Zerbi’s attacking hierarchy, Richarlison’s four-year spell in North London has reached its definitive end. Tottenham will now look to finalize a deal in one of the remaining open markets to ensure the forward can resume playing regularly.
