Tottenham among clubs interested in Al Hilal prodigy who is one of highly-rated young talents in French football

Tottenham are keeping tabs on one of the highly-rated young talents in French football.

Tottenham Hotspur concluded their most productive transfer window under Roberto De Zerbi at the start of September. It was a record-breaking transfer window which completely transformed the squad, with over £300 million spent on 10 major new players.

At the same time, the North Londoners moved on some talented youngsters who were finding it difficult to break into the senior side. Young talents such as Luka Vuskovic, Will Lankshear and Ashley Phillips were sold, which has created enough space for the entry of fresh blood and energy. For a club that has focused on investing in highly-regarded prospects in recent years, it would be a big shame if the recruitment team do not add more such players to the squad.

Tottenham interested in Al Hilal starlet

According to an exclusive report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are interested in Al Hilal forward Mohamed Kader Meite. Several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, made enquiries to sign the player before the summer transfer window closed and their interest in the teenager persists.

Many European clubs explored the possibility of signing Mohamed Kader Meite in January before he left Rennes to join Al Hilal. One of the most highly regarded young forwards in French football, the forward has scored once in five games for Al Hilal this season. After less than eight months, he is planning to return to Europe, putting several clubs on red alert.

Tottenham remain in the mix, having scouted him last season, and they could attempt to sign Meite after missing out on his services in the January transfer window. Spurs didn’t hesitate to spend big in the summer but are still keen to add a young forward after moving on some players, either on loan or permanently.

After the signings of Savio, Omar Marmoush and Mykhaylo Mudryk, coupled with the presence of Dominic Solanke, Mathys Tel and Mohamed Kudus, De Zerbi’s attacking unit is already well stocked. It will be difficult for the Lilywhites to attract Meite unless they can guarantee him regular minutes and a proper plan to nurture his talent. They will need to give the France youth international a clear pathway to the first team and a defined role in order to lure him to White Hart Lane.

Al Hilal remain convinced of the youngster’s potential, and were justifiably reluctant to sanction Meite’s departure in the past summer transfer window. The ex-Rennes man’s involvement with the first team under Simeone Inzaghi this season has given the Saudi Pro League further proof of his long-term value and potential.

So, it remains to be seen whether Al Hilal will be ready to sell Meite in 2027, and if they agree to that idea, Tottenham have to throw their hat in the ring for the 18-year-old attacker.
