Tottenham forward Richarlison has been linked with a return to Brazil.
Roberto De Zerbi dropped the biggest hint last week that Richarlison is not a part of his plans moving forward after he was left out of Tottenham Hotspur’s 25-man Premier League squad.
This comes after the Brazilian international expressed to Roberto De Zerbi his desire to quit Spurs for greener pastures. Interestingly, he rejected a return to Everton before deadline day as the centre-forward was holding out for a move away from England. Trabzonspor also showed interest in the 29-year-old, but they couldn’t agree on a fee with Spurs and the Turkish transfer window slammed shut on September 4.
Latest reports suggest Vasco da Gama and Atletico Mineiro are battling to sign Richarlison. The transfer window in South America does not shut until 11 September, so the forward has got only a couple of days to sort out his future.
Savio gives Richarlison transfer advice
Summer signing and fellow Brazilian Savio now seems to have confirmed the latest interest in Richarlison from Vasco da Gama. The 22-year-old has revealed that he has been trying to convince Richarlison to join Atlético Mineiro instead of Vasco da Gama.
Taking to Instagram (h/t ESPN Brazil), Savio wrote under a galodesde1908 post that had Richarlison photoshopped in their kit: “He said he wants to go to Vasco, man; I told him to go to Galao instead, he would be happier there.”
Savio came through Atletico Mineiro’s academy and supports them, so naturally he has advised Richarlison to join them. Richarlison has apparently been telling his Tottenham teammate that he wants the Vasco move.
Savio’s comments on Instagram comes at a very interesting moment. The ex-Manchester City man’s words prove that something is cooking between Richarlison and the Brazilian clubs behind the scenes. Richarlison clearly doesn’t want to spend the next few months without playing. He’s now willing to listen to all possibilities and is keen to sort out his Tottenham future as quickly as possible.
Well, time is running out for the South American star, who appears likely to head back to his homeland before the September 11 deadline. It remains to be seen whether the versatile forward gets his desired move to Vasco, or Savio’s advice changes his mind and he heads to Atletico Mineiro instead. All in all, Richarlison’s wretched four-year spell at White Hart Lane finally looks to be coming to an end.
