Vasco da Gama trying to present creative options to Tottenham for Richarlison signing

Tottenham outcast Richarlison has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland lately.

Richarlison appears to have made his preferred destination clear as speculation continues over his Tottenham Hotspur future.

Roberto De Zerbi’s decision to omit the Brazilian international from the North London club’s 25-man Premier League squad is the biggest message yet regarding their stance on his future. The forward has now been looking for a new adventure following failed summer moves to Everton and Trabzonspor.

Richarlison has been attracting interest from Brazilian clubs lately. Vasco da Gama and Atletico Mineiro have been exploring a move, but the Tottenham outcast’s preference is to join the former.

Vasco da Gama trying to explore creative methods to sign Richarlison

The transfer window in South America does not shut until 11 September, so Richarlison has got only a couple of days to sort out his future. Vasco da Gama are now trying to find a way to sign the 29-year-old from Spurs before the transfer window slams shut.

According to Brazilian outlet Globe Esporte, Vasco have already seen Tottenham rule out loaning Richarlison and are now looking at other ways they can put together a deal to sign him. It has been suggested that the Rio de Janeiro-based club would like to spread payments on a permanent deal over several instalments to make it an affordable transfer deal.

It is unclear how many years they would like to spread the payments out and whether the North London club would accept such a transaction. With Richarlison out of De Zerbi’s project, Vasco would try to take advantage of Tottenham’s position and agree on a cut-price deal. The report adds that the Brazilian does not want to stay in N17 and is excited to join them, giving them further encouragement to thrash out a deal.

The Brazilian outfit could pay a smaller fee up front and spread the remaining payments over the coming years to convince Spurs to sanction the player’s departure. As a loan deal is not possible, Vasco must quickly find something creative to satisfy the Lilywhites’ transfer demands for Richarlison, whose contract at White Hart Lane expires next year.

The ex-Everton star is even understood to have given the green light to a move to the South American club, but with time running out, Vasco have to quickly find a way to sign Richarlison permanently from Tottenham.
