Egyptian forward reinforces Roberto De Zerbi’s message of optimism as Spurs look to end their Premier League goal drought against Aston Villa.
Tottenham Hotspur forward Omar Marmoush has voiced strong conviction in the team’s underlying progress, reassuring supporters that the squad’s attacking output will explode once fine details align.
The summer signing’s positive assessment arrives as North London outfit works through a frustrating goal drought in the Premier League. Spurs have played 407 minutes without finding the back of the net in top-flight action, having recorded back-to-back 0-0 draws against Nottingham Forest and Everton alongside a midweek Carabao Cup exit at Anfield. Despite the scrutiny surrounding Tottenham’s early-season finishing, Marmoush believes the squad is making steady progress under head coach Roberto De Zerbi.
Highlighting the fine margins currently separating Spurs from finding their fluid rhythm, the forward’s statement was reported by Gary Ward on X:
“When these small details click, it will be very, very good”
Marmoush’s optimism reflects the broader mood inside Hotspur Way, where De Zerbi and his coaching staff have emphasized patience while integrating marquee summer arrivals into a fresh tactical philosophy. While Tottenham’s xG per shot currently sits near the bottom of the league, building cohesive chemistry between new arrivals and established stars remains an ongoing priority.
Addressing the increasing volume of goalscoring opportunities being generated in matches, Marmoush’s continued:
“Every game we create more, more and more and more chances – I’m sure we are very close.”
Pivotal Test Awaits at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Marmoush’s upbeat perspective mirrors the sentiments of manager De Zerbi, who recently acknowledged the dressing room’s shared pain while insisting that goals will soon flow naturally. Tottenham return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With both teams seeking their first top-flight victory of the 2026/27 campaign, Marmoush and his teammates will be eager to ensure those small details finally fall into place.
