While north London erupted this summer with the arrival of Mesut Ozil and the departure of Gareth Bale, there has been little time for talk of much else. The space that has been left has been dominated by the form of Andros Townsend for both club and country and Arsenal being top of the league, and left the rest on the scrap heap. While Spurs went about spending the millions of pounds they did over the summer, there was a forgotten man who was not ready to let his place in the side go. That man was Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Javier Hernandez has managed just three bit-part appearances this season and not caused a fuss, apparently, but now – according to the Standard – the Mexican is ready to search for some playing time, with Spurs interested in securing his signature.
