“I’ve never been more scared”, “Rest Kane” – Some Tottenham fans are worried as Champions League campaign begins

Tottenham Champions League

Tottenham don’t have an easy group in the Champions League this season. We faced a similar problem the last term as well when we were paired with Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

This time around, Barcelona and Inter Milan are also fighting for the top two spots in the group and we have dark horses PSV Eindhoven waiting to pick up the scraps.

Our first game of the competition is against Inter at San Siro and our recent performances haven’t been great.

Since defeating Manchester United, Tottenham have lost back-to-back games. And in both clashes, we looked out of sorts and didn’t play our slick brand of attacking football.

Mauricio Pochettino looked bereft of ideas and Harry Kane looked tired and beat. We were lucky Liverpool didn’t embarrass us further in the previous fixture and some of the fans were concerned about our Champions League chances.

Michel Vorm

Started two games, lost both of them – that is the record Michel Vorm has for us this season. The Dutch keeper started against Watford and Liverpool and in both matches, the score was 2-1 in favour of the opposition.

The former Swansea City keeper was at fault for both goals against the Reds on Saturday but he could still play in our Champions League opener against Inter Milan.

Hugo Lloris picked up an injury prior to the international break and is expected to be out for a while. We do have Paulo Gazzaniga but playing him at such a high-voltage clash could be too big a risk for Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham shared some essential travel details for those travelling to San Siro and some fans did not want the Dutchman to travel to Italy at all.

“He’s playing for Nike FC”, “Ali express?” – Some Tottenham fans notice one major issue with star’s kit

Tottenham had a tough evening at Wembley as Liverpool ran out 2-1 winners. The Reds extended their lead over Spurs to six points and thoroughly deserved the win.

Spurs were a little unlucky with Son Heung-min not getting a penalty at the end but we didn’t deserve anything from the game.

Mauricio Pochettino must work towards getting the team back to their best but some Spurs fans noticed something strange about Toby Alderweireld’s kit during the game.

The Belgian had a terrible time against Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah but his kit was missing the Tottenham badge.

Alderweireld didn’t have a great game and some fans had a bit of a go at the Belgian regarding his kit.

“Poor miss from the ref” – Some Tottenham fans irate over non-call from referee in 2-1 Liverpool loss

Tottenham were outplayed in the 2-1 loss against Liverpool but there was controversy as we were denied a clear penalty against the Reds in the final seconds of the game.

Erik Lamela had scored in injury time and a couple of minutes later, there was madness in the Liverpool penalty box.

The ball broke kindly to Son Heung-min and as the South Korean was winding up for a shot, Sadio Mane clipped the Spurs man.

Son fluffed the shot but referee Michael Oliver pointed for a goal kick. The fans at Wembley screamed for the right decision but Oliver’s view was obstructed by a number of players.

Nevertheless, the call has left a bitter taste in the mouth as we should have had the chance to level the scores.

Liverpool might have been better but we had a chance to secure a point for our efforts at least. Many Tottenham fans were upset over the missed call and here are some of their reactions from Twitter.
