West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has warned Tottenham not too take their time over the potential signing of Scott Parker.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has warned Tottenham not too take their time over the potential signing of Scott Parker.

Parker has been linked with a move away from Upton Park following the Hammers relegation last season and the FWA Player of the Year was reportedly set to lead a mass exodus of the clubs stars’.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is a big admirer of the 30-year-old and it is reported that the North London outfit lodged a bid for the player back in January.

Allardyce however believes that if Spurs leave it until the last minute to bid for the England International that they will be left disappointed.

“It is a worry that Spurs might wait until the last minute because it would be the wrong time to do it,” Allardyce said.

“If they want to come and do it then, I will be telling the chairmen it is the most expensive time and not the cheapest.

“So if Harry is listening, or anyone at Tottenham, watch out, don’t be waiting that long because you won’t be able to do it.”

West Ham fully expect Parker to move before the close of the tranfer window next month but Allardyce was quick to insist that the club have received no bids for the player.

“There are no bids for Scott at the moment so we continue to improve him as if he is going to start the season in our team, until such time as somebody bids the right money that would be acceptable to the club,” Allardyce added.

“It’s like that for every player at ever club. There is speculation and that will continue right through to the 31st of August unfortunately, but that is the way it is.

“We need to deal with it, it is very, very difficult indeed, but there is not a lot we can do about it.”

Tottenham aren’t the only club to have been linked with a move for the West Ham captain with Arsenal, Liverpool and former club Chelsea reportedly interested in the player.

Latest Spurs news: Foyth picks up ankle injury during Audi Cup win over Bayern Munich

Tottenham lifted the Audi Cup crown after defeating Bayern Munich on penalties but there was some concern about Juan Foyth.

The Argentine defender injured his ankle during the second half and had to leave the pitch on a stretcher.

The 21-year-old went down holding his ankle and Mauricio Pochettino was concerned regarding his fellow Argentine (h/t BBC):

“I need to talk with the doctor.

“He twisted his ankle but at the moment I cannot give an update. He said his ankle was very painful.”

Tottenham dealt a major blow ahead of the campaign

The youngster played put up some great performances for the club last season and even filled in as a right-back in certain games. Spurs are a little light in that position after selling Kieran Trippier in the summer, and Serge Aurier has had his injury problems.

The Argentine will be suspended for the first two Premier League games of the season, which means Kyle Walker-Peters should start the season as the first-choice right-back.

Losing Foyth could be a problem for Spurs and hopefully, he isn’t out for too long. Tottenham have only bought Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke this season, and cannot do with injuries to first-teamers.

Many Spurs fans were also concerned about Foyth’s injury and wanted the club to sign a right-back soon.

Latest Spurs news: Mauricio Pochettino confident of Dele Alli facing Liverpool

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was confident that star attacker Dele Alli would face Liverpool on 1st June.

Spurs face the Reds in the Champions League final in Madrid but the Englishman was replaced at half-time in our final game of the Premier League season.

We finished the campaign with a 2-2 draw at home as Christian Eriksen scored the equaliser in the second half.

Alli has had his injury concerns this season but Pochettino was confident the Englishman’s substitution was not related to a problem (h/t Sky Sports):

“He didn’t start in the warm-up, he was feeling strange and then his performance was very poor in the first half because he can’t cope with the situation.

“So because of caution, he was out. I think it is not a problem. We need to assess him, but I think he was tired, but for the circumstance again we played with him.”

The Argentine claimed that he would not have started Alli in normal circumstances but withdrew the star before something serious happened.

Tottenham need their stars to be fit

The clash against Liverpool will be our biggest in decades and we need all the help we can get. Harry Kane and Harry Winks are also looking to regain fitness for the final against the Reds.

Liverpool have had an excellent season where they missed out on the Premier League title despite scoring 97 points.

However, we gave them a run for their money in the away game this season. The Reds won via an own goal from us, and no one can rule us out in a European tie.

Wins over Manchester City, Ajax and Borussia Dortmund prove that we can do it on the big stage and we should have one more big push to land the Champions League crown.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has claimed that the team have to play better when under pressure. Mauricio Pochettino has built a side that has challenged for the Premier League in recent years, however, Spurs always seem to fall at the final hurdle.

This was on show recently when we lost consecutive games against Burnley and Chelsea before coming out with a fortunate point against Arsenal.

Spurs were in with a shout of winning the Premier League title this season, and Kane believes we have to deal better with pressure (h/t BT Sport):

“The thing for us now, kind of like this week, when the pressure is on and we need to step up, we need to find a way to get it done.

“We haven’t done that in recent years, we haven’t done that this week and that will be the difference. That is the turning point that we need to try and achieve.”

Kane hopes for silverware soon

The England captain added that every team is strengthening and that we need to do the same too. Tottenham haven’t signed a single player in two transfer windows, and that surely has affected our season too.

Spurs have a chance of making it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday. We hold a 3-0 advantage over Borussia Dortmund after the first-leg and hopefully, we complete the job in Germany.

Marco Reus

Marco Reus

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is not confident whether Marco Reus will be fit for the Champions League last-16 first leg tie against Tottenham.

The Bundesliga leaders face Spurs at Wembley on Wednesday, and the German picked up an injury during the DFB Pokal defeat at the hands of Werder Bremen last week.

Reus did not feature in the 3-3 draw against Hoffenheim at the weekend as well, and Zorc told Ruhr Nachrichten (h/t AS) that he does not expect a miraculous recovery from the forward:

“I think we will decide that in the short term. But I do not expect a miraculous recovery before Wednesday.”

The 29-year-old has had troubles with injuries throughout his career but has been great for Dortmund this season.

He has scored 17 times in all competitions and supplied seven assists. The Bundesliga leaders have other threats in their attack, but for Spurs,  not facing Reus will be a huge boost for the first leg, at least.

Tottenham also have Harry Kane and Dele Alli out for this game, and it will be interesting to see which attack has the upper hand on Wednesday.

Son Heung-Min has been the star of the show in the absence of the pair, and the South Korean needs to have a quality game if we are to beat the German side.

Son scored in the 3-1 win over Leicester at the weekend, and this Tottenham side should be confident of challenging Dortmund.
