Vincent Janssen of Tottenham

Tottenham are ready to sell Vincent Janssen this summer if a perfect offer comes knocking at their doors, as per the reports from Evening Standard.

The former AZ Alkmaar striker, Janssen is the only striker Tottenham have at their disposal as a backup for star man Harry Kane. Hence, his departure would definitely mean another arrival at the North London club. Janssen made his much anticipated Tottenham move last summer from Eredivisie side AZ for a reported £17million.

Much was expected from the 23-year-old, but to everyone’s surprise, he utterly failed when he was supposed to step up. In Harry Kane’s absence last season, he was given his fair share of game time, but to no effect. Eventually, Pochettino had to use Son Heung-Min. The South Korean didn’t disappoint a bit.

Furthermore, The Sun have credited Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion with an interest in Janssen. The daily claims that Pulis is ready to make a £30million bid for both Janssen and Kevin Wimmer. Wimmer’s departure has been more or less confirmed as Tottenham have announced the arrival of Davinson Sanchez.

Although the Baggies have acquired the signature of Southampton’s Jay Rodriguez for a reported £12million fee, it is being claimed that Pulis wants more numbers in his attack at The Hawthorns. Having said that, a £15million bid each for both Janssen and Wimmer is expected before the transfer window slams shut.

Only a few days back, Daily Telegraph published a story claiming that West Brom are closing in on signing Wimmer, but Pulis himself denied the claims.

“Whoever is saying it (Wimmer) is close is miles away from that fact. We’ve got a lot of irons in the fire and we hope to get deals done and they have to be right for the football club,” Pulis was quoted as saying by IBTimes.

Things, however, might take a U-turn given the fact that Jonny Evans is strongly linked with a move to Manchester City. The Citizens have already seen a bid getting rejected for the Northern Irishman, but it is expected that they will come back with an improved offer for the Premier League veteran.

It has been reported that Tottenham have identified Lazio’s Keita Balde Diao as Janssen’s potential replacement and a late bid to sign the Spanish-born Senegalese international is expected from the Lilywhites. The Evening Standard, however, have reported a contrasting story, claiming that the 22-year-old “is not a primary target at this stage.”

It certainly looks like we have an exciting week ahead of us in terms of transfers!
