As per a report from The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a summer move for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, who has been praised time and again for his effortless performances this season.
Estimated to be valued at £20million, Tierney is regarded as one of the brightest young talents in European football right now. Blessed with all the attributes of a modern-day full-back, the 20-year-old boasts of admirable defending qualities while possessing exceptional speed and power while surging forward.
His quick feet and instincts often help him weave past opponents to contribute to the attack. A young player like that could work wonders in a set-up like Tottenham’s.
Mauricio Pochettino is lauded for his ability to bring out the best in youngsters and he could mould and develop Tierney to help him reach his true potential. Furthermore, with Danny Rose continuing to be plagued by injuries and, it would be beneficial to have another left-back in the mix.
Ben Davies has been fantastic for us but Tierney could act as a much-needed deputy and also provide competition for the Spurs star.
It remains to be seen if Celtic let go of one of their key players and even if they do, the competition for Tierney’s signature will undoubtedly be fierce. Also, Tierney might have to forego the prospect of regular game time, given Davies’ exceptional form.
However, if we can beat the potential suitors and snap up a deal for him, we must definitely make a move this summer.
