Tottenham have been in decent form in recent weeks and picked up important wins over Chelsea and Inter Milan.
We are eight points behind Manchester City going into the festive round of games but Toby Alderweireld does not believe we are back to our best.
Spurs lost to Watford earlier in the season and didn’t look great against Manchester City, but the Belgian claimed there is more to come from the side, who lost their north London derby against Arsenal.
Alderweireld was quoted (h/t Daily Mail) saying:
“No we don’t feel that.
“We are the most critical of our own performances. A lot has been said about the stadium and about the pitch [at Wembley] and we’re doing very well but we can improve. And even if we go well, we can improve.
“We know we have to do the same thing as the last couple of years and we will get good results.”
The Belgian added that the game against Inter was great given that the opposition knew how to defend and play smart.
Tottenham have turned things around and seem to be doing well now. It might be tough catching Manchester City but we need to keep the pressure on the Cityzens and hope they crack.
Mauricio Pochettino didn’t add to his side in the summer. With a few new faces in the side in the coming transfer windows, we could reach the next level.
