Tottenham new stadium

Tottenham have confirmed that the 13th January home game against Manchester United will be played at Wembley and not at our new stadium.

A release from the club claims that tests are being conducted throughout and the team is working to attain the stadium safety certificate.

The release further claimed that should there be no issues during the Christmas period, the team would be ready to schedule test events at our new home.

Daniel Levy added that he did not want to commit to any dates until we get the safety certificate and understood the frustration amongst the fans:

“We are acutely conscious that we are asking fans to go to Wembley for far longer than any of us wanted to. However we are now seeing the progress that we needed to see.

“What I don’t want to do is set any firm dates until we have finally achieved a safety certificate. So many people tell me to look at other major schemes that run late and, whilst I know it happens often, we are still hugely frustrated.”

The release added that the club would receive a report once the week starts and another update will be provided to the fans.

Hopefully, our stadium will be up and ready before February as we could host the Champions League knockout games there.

Spurs were brilliant in the draw against Barcelona and our next tie is against Burnley on Saturday.
