Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko could make a return sooner than expected after his injury against Manchester United.

The Sun reports that the Frenchman picked up a groin injury in the 1-0 loss to United, and limped off the pitch.

Sissoko was expected to be out for a month with the injury, however, the Sun reports that the midfielder is targeting a return next week, and hasn’t been ruled completely out from the weekend’s clash against Fulham.

Spurs have some huge fixtures coming up in February with the first leg Champions League round of 16 clash against Borussia Dortmund.

Sissoko has been one of our stars this season, and it’s important for us to have him back to fitness after Harry Kane’s injury.

The Englishman is out for a couple of months, and we are a little short of midfielders with Mousa Dembele being sold and Eric Dier still recovering from his appendix operation.

The 29-year-old has done well alongside Harry Winks and has been one of the surprise performers for Spurs this season.

It would be best to provide Sissoko with some rest for his weekend’s tie against Fulham. The Cottagers are struggling in the Premier League, and we could use him in the clash against Chelsea next Thursday.

Spurs need to get back to winning ways at the weekend, and it will be interesting to see how we line up against the Cottagers.
