Spurs transfer news: Tottenham interested in Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare

Tottenham are interested in Lille youngster Boubakary Soumare, according to Foot Mercato (h/t Calciomercato). The report adds that Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma are also interested in the 20-year-old Lille midfielder.

The youngster has 11 appearances for Lille in Ligue 1 this season after breaking into the first-team. The midfielder has also picked up caps for the U20 France side but is yet to make a start in Ligue 1 for Les Dogues this season.

A base created in Paris

Soumare came through the ranks at Paris FC before joining the Paris Saint-Germain academy in 2011. The youngster spent six years at the Ligue 1 club before breaking into the B side and then joining Lille.

Soumare has played from the U16 levels to the U20 level for the French national side too. Tottenham haven’t made any signings in two windows, but have been linked with several players over the past season.

The latest set of linked players are young and have the potential to become world-class in the coming years.

Jarrod Bowen is another youngster who has been linked in the winter window, while young Dane Robert Skov is another player who Tottenham are interested in.
