Latest Spurs news: Frank Leboeuf claims Christian Eriksen provides more than Paul Pogba and Eden Hazard

Former Chelsea and France star Frank Leboeuf lavished praise on Christian Eriksen after the Dane’s winner against Brighton.

Tottenham seemed set for a 0-0 draw against the Seagulls but Eriksen came up with a fantastic goal in the 88^th minute.

The win gave us some breathing room in the race for the top four, and Leboeuf claimed Eriksen provides more to the team than Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba.

The Daily Star reports that the Dane has been linked with Real Madrid this season, and Leboeuf told ESPN FC (h/t Daily Star):

“I really, really love Eriksen. He is a fantastic player.

“We can talk sometimes about Manchester United with Pogba and Chelsea with Eden Hazard but is there is one guy who can make the difference for his team it is Eriksen.”

“He can find the magical pass or score the goal like he did against Brighton and he is a fantastic player.”

The former France star also added that Tottenham looked the best team out of the rest looking to finish in the Champions League spots behind Manchester City and Liverpool.

Eriksen shining at the right time for Spurs

The Dane has come into form for Spurs at the right time. Since the last international break, the midfielder has provided five assists and has scored twice in seven games for Tottenham.

The 26-year-old is out of a contract at the end of next season, but Mauricio Pochettino was hopeful that Eriksen would stay at the club for the foreseeable future.
