Latest Spurs news: Moussa Sissoko provides handy boost ahead of Champions League tie

Tottenham have been hit hard by several injuries to key players this season. Harry Kane is out for a while and almost every first-teamer has been on the treatment table for some part of the campaign.

Spurs’ squad is stretched to the limit ahead of the Champions League tie in midweek, however, Football.london’s Alasdair Gold provided a much-needed update on an injured midfielder.

The 29-year-old hasn’t played since the Champions League second leg quarter-final against Manchester City, and the Daily Mail adds that the Frenchman could play against Ajax in midweek.

Jan Vertonghen did not play in the defeat to West Ham at the weekend but could be back for the Champions League clash.

Mauricio Pochettino claimed that the midfielder could be out for a couple of weeks but the report adds that things might have changed.

Spurs need all the help they can get to beat Ajax

The Dutch giants won’t be easy opposition and we need help from all sides to get the better of the away side.

Spurs will be without the services of Son Heung-min for the first leg due to suspension. Harry Kane is already out and we are yet to see if Harry Winks can play any part in the game.

Sissoko’s return would be a great boost for the team as he has been one of the best players this season.
