Latest Spurs news: Son Heung-min warns Liverpool ahead of Champions League final

Tottenham’s South Korean ace Son Heung-min has warned Liverpool that he could be in great form ahead of the Champions League final.

Spurs face the Reds on 1st June at the Wanda Metropolitano as both clubs look to win their first piece of silverware under their respective managers.

Mauricio Pochettino has worked wonders for the side as we beat Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax in the Champions League knockout rounds, and Son was recently named as the club’s Player of the Season in three different fan votes, according to the Evening Standard.

The South Korean has bagged 20 goals in all competitions for Tottenham this season and could not wait to play in the final (h/t Evening Standard):

“I am a really, really positive guy and it is one of the best feelings to be playing in the Champions League Final, so I just want to make sure that I am ready for every single ball and every single second.

“It is in three weeks, so everything is in our hands. I hope that I am in fire mode!”

Spurs have time to rest and recover

Three weeks is a lot of time between games, but this is exactly what Spurs need at the moment.

Mauricio Pochettino does not have the biggest squad in the Premier League and his team has been stretched this season with injuries.

Son admitted that the players need a bit of a rest and wants them to be fit for the final.

Harry Kane is one of the major doubts for the game and it will be interesting to see if he can recover from his ankle injury.

Not having the Englishman on the pitch would be a blow but if Son plays to his best, Liverpool will find it tough to keep the South Korean from scoring.
