Latest Spurs news: Tanguy Ndombele targets winning the Champions League in debut Tottenham season
Tottenham made two signings on Tuesday, with Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele joining the London club.
The last time we signed a player was in January 2018, and getting two in one day was certainly great.
Clarke has been loaned back to Leeds United while Ndombele joined us for a club record fee (h/t Football.london).
The 22-year-old was speaking about his plans for next season and wanted to integrate well with the side.
The Frenchman also told the club’s website that he wants to win trophies with Spurs, and one particular piece was on his mind.
Tottenham had to deal with a painful Champions League final defeat a few weeks
“I want to win silverware, that’s also why I’m here. For me, I hope we can win the Champions League.
“It’s a really tough competition to win, where things are decided by small margins. I just hope I can win it next season with Tottenham, that would be perfect for me.”
The Frenchman is right in suggesting that the competition is tough, however, we overcame several quality sides to reach the final.
Losing to Liverpool was tough, but the Reds made big signings last summer and hopefully, we have a few more announcements to make before the season starts.
Ndombele impresses in Europe
The French midfielder was excellent in Ligue 1 but some of his best performances came in the Champions League.
Lyon took four points off Manchester City last season and even held Barcelona to a draw.

Ndombele seems perfect for Spurs and he should hit the ground running from day one at the club.
